I have a few questions that I hope somebody might be able to answer. I have a new 02 Savage with 250 miles. Since its still in the break in period Ive kept the rpm's down so I dont damage the engine. But Ive noticed as I get to the higher rpm;s in each gear I hear a squeal until I shift. Anybody have any idea what that might be?... Also, can you damage your gearbox by starting out in second gear? Sure seems to accelerate quicker!...After reading almost every post in here pertaining to aftermarket mufflers, what gives? The dealer says they have to change fuel jets and blah, blah before they can install a Jardine muffler. Im looking at about $400 if this is true. I sure as hell hope its not!...Ive read in here that it can be installed with no new jets. I was led to believe that the Supertrapp required adjustments...One last question till the next time. You people all talk about going 70mph on your bikes. Will my bike run better have I have a few hundred more miles on it? Cause with this stock muffler and no carb adjustments, my Savage seems to be working pretty hard at 55 mph.? And as light as this bike is, isnt 70 a pretty unsafe speed to travel on this little bike? I feel like Im going to take off at anything above 50!...Dumb questions I know, but as a new rider Im sure they wont be the last! Thanks for any help!! (by the way I pulled into a gas station the day after it was robbed at gun point, came to a stop and it backfired and the 2 attendants started to run! HA!)
